The first photo booths appeared in Coney Island Amusement Park, hence the name that one might remember, Coney Island Photo Booth. It was the invention of the strip photo! A few people would squeeze into a booth with their friends or loved ones and make funny faces or poses! Little pictures in black and white would come out on a strip so that they could be cut up to give friends each a picture.
